Bender Bending Rodriguez (Solid Works)
thingiverse
I revamped an instance of Bender that I stumbled upon a month ago, but forgot how to design using SolidWorks, so it was created with TinkerCAD, which involved making a few revisions only to encounter one issue after another. Following up on some experience gained with SolidWorks, I decided to take on Bender once again, with each individual part as well as the assembly available in SolidWorks this time around. This lacking in my previous model made it slightly more challenging to visualize how everything fit together. For anyone interested in taking a closer look at the SolidWorks files and tweaking them to get a precise fit, I'm making them freely available; the STL files are also included so you can send them directly to a slicer. Unfortunately, I still don't have access to a printer so I'm not entirely sure how well it will turn out, but I'd greatly appreciate if someone goes ahead and prints this design for me. In return, any feedback regarding the positives and negatives of the print would be more than welcome. UPDATE: Uploaded vertical STL files. UPDATE June 16 2017: Included 3.4 and 3.5mm diameter pegs, since the initial 3.6mm one didn't fit correctly. UPDATE June 19 2017: Added hand and foot with 4mm diameter ball joints in place of the original 3.6mm ones which were too loose for their sockets.
