Bender Bending Rodriguez, the iconic robot model, awaits your creativity. With an assortment of accessories already in existence, the community's help is needed to continue expanding the collection. As new episodes air, I'll be adding more details to this articulated model. Important note: Be sure to read through these instructions carefully as they provide vital information on printing and assembly procedures. The time has come to unleash your creativity! With a few tweaks, you can transform Bender into a diabolical machine hell-bent on destroying humanity. This model has been upgraded to the metric version, but don't worry about scaling – it's already taken care of. However, for smaller parts like the cigar or antennae, using a brim may be necessary to ensure stability during printing. To give your Bender an extra level of customization, I've included a few bonus accessories. These can be found in the edited and added pieces section at the end of these instructions. Make sure to check them out! Now, let's dive into the assembly process. The body requires some patience, as it involves cutting through tabs on top and bottom of the door with a blade. To avoid any printer-related issues, make sure to follow the photo tutorial included for guidance. Assemble the shoulders by pressing one tab while inserting the shoulder into the socket at the same time. Both ridges in front and back need to be securely seated in the ring to allow rotation with slight tension. Attach four links to one shoulder to create an arm. Next, attach the legangle2.stl pieces to the bottom of the body to form legs, as they are slightly angled. Use five links to form each leg, ensuring a secure connection. If the links don't fit together smoothly, simply run a blade around the inside hole to loosen it up. To make your Bender's accessories more durable, consider printing them with a high infill number. You can also glue rare earth magnets into the foot for added stability. Below are some notable updates and additions to keep in mind: April 7th – The beam has been revised to fit snugly between the arms. Beard is now available as an optional accessory that requires support during printing. The "Headnohole" piece offers an alternate head design without a cigar hole. Use the "Headjar" container to store your heads safely, and consider gluing on a printed face for a more personalized look. "Tophat" is a new addition to the collection. May 29th – Links 181 through 185 have been added to the set, each slightly larger than the last. If you experience issues with link 18 fitting together seamlessly, try printing two of link 181 instead and see if they work better for your printer. July 22nd – Two additional supports have been added to the bottom of the door upon request. If any part of these instructions remains unclear, don't hesitate to reach out.
