Benchy Shelf
thingiverse
I built a simple shelf to store our Benchy collection. As we expand our filament stash, I drew inspiration from greybeard3d.com to create samples of filaments we've used and would reorder or discard. We track the Benchies with a Google sheet, noting which number corresponds to each type, brand, and location. To showcase printing flaws like stringing and bridging, I chose 3DBenchy over Marvin, scaled it down for faster prints, and added a flat bottom for easy labeling. The shelf was an opportunity to learn design basics, taking several iterations to perfect. I made it as slender as possible to reduce print time, with each Benchy taking about an hour depending on the slicer and printer settings.
