Bench PSU from Drill Battery
thingiverse
This design targets the MB10.8-13 Lithium battery used in MacAllister portable tools, widely available in the UK from B&Q. The DC-DC unit can be purchased online for a few pounds at http://www.banggood.com/DC-DC-Step-Down-Power-Supply-Adjustable-Module-With-LCD-Display-With-Housing-Case-p-1038740.html. This power supply delivers a smooth and constant voltage between 3 to 30 volts. With a 10.8v battery, the top-end range is limited to 10.8v, so I'm working on a design for a dual-battery system to reach up to 21.6v; if there's enough interest, it will expand to a triple and then quad configuration.
