Used 1/2 in Aluminum Tube and 3/8 in. Aluminum rod. 1/4 rubber washers used between rotating sections of joints and clamped using 1/4 - 20 winged tee and nut. Base mounts with carriage bolt (i think 1/4 20 x whatever fits your desk. I will provide a better description of hardware as soon as I get the motivation or someone requests more detail :)
