Bench Dogs
myminifactory
I needed some custom "bench dogs" for my workbench, so I decided to see if I could create some that would withstand the pressure of my woodworking projects. I also designed them with a 1 degree angle on the face to apply downward pressure - in theory. I made several prints of the long version and tested them on my bench. So far, they're holding up well. The 20% infill felt a bit light but still held up, while the 80% infill was incredibly solid. I added slots and holes to potentially add spring clips for extra security. However, the print warped slightly and fit snugly into the holes. These custom "bench dogs" are specifically designed for use with 3/4" dog holes on a woodworking workbench. You can purchase metal ones if you prefer, but I'd rather use plastic or wood ones in case I accidentally hit them with my hand planes. I'm currently printing a shorter version and, of course, added my name to them - because why not?
