There are several bench hooks available, but none that truly impressed me, so I decided to create my own from scratch. As the central reinforcement, I chose a robust M10 screw measuring 45mm in length for added stability. To safeguard the blades of hand planes, I designed a lid that fits snugly on top. The thumbwheel was adapted from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2259838/, with some necessary enlargement to fit my design. Due to its compact nature, this bench hook requires a vice or a similar tool to secure the lid in place and press the nut firmly onto the thumbwheel. This is essential for strengthening the overall structure. I tested its durability by attempting to destroy it with a 200g hammer, but unfortunately, it proved resilient against even my most determined efforts.
