BENBOX UPPSIDE DOWN MOD
thingiverse
I've been thinking of this mod since the day I got my BenBox. This mod makes it possible to engrave on any surface by turning the box upside down. Turning it upside down allows you to etch any place you can access. For this mod, I used one meter of 8mm threaded rod, which was cut into four pieces. You'll also need 24 8 mm nuts and 24 8mm washers. The plexi was cut on a K40 laser cutter using 3mm material because it matches the length of the screws originally on my BenBox. To assemble the mod, simply follow the picture instructions, turning the laser upside down in the holder. With the USB and power cable attached to the right side (facing you) and flipping the picture before etching, you're ready to go. The time required to complete this project is approximately one to two hours (it took me three hours to finish).
