At mid-point up Benn Tairbeirt on South Uist lies a cluster of five bothain-airighe structures, each boasting its own unique flair. This second one appears to be the oldest at the site and is situated in a state of utter disrepair. It cleverly utilizes the natural contours of the hillside for protection from the prevailing weather patterns. A massive, dazzling white boulder on the left primarily consists of crystalline feldspar-quartz.
