Around halfway up Benn Tairbeirt on South Uist, five distinct bothain-airighe structures stand out, each showcasing its own unique charm. The first one is a straightforward rectangular dry-stone construction, partially concealed by thick heather on a small (2-3 meters) hillside mound. After some careful maintenance to clear the heather in a limited area of the site, the structure becomes more visible and its details are much easier to grasp.
