Ben - Prosthetic Hand

Ben - Prosthetic Hand

thingiverse

This prosthetic hand is still in development. History I've been designing this hand for a local child who was born without one of his hands. Today he's only five years old and uses a cosmetic hand because any other functional hand costs almost $3,000. This hand will fit into his "arm glove" - an adapter he uses on the arm to put the hand in place. Description Currently, the hand has only one degree of freedom, where only the thumb moves using a servo motor. This allows him to grab things at least. I'm working on using the same servo motor to move the two upper fingers, which will improve grip.
