Belted-Z - 5mm-Bore Edition
prusaprinters
Using these parts in combination with the other parts from the base mod, allows you to perform the modification using only 5mm-bore bearings/pulleys, and 5mm shafts - no more 8mm stuff on the top, or 3mm on the bottom.Parts were selected based on availability in my spare parts drawer, which is mostly full of leftover bits of Voron builds - all parts used should be readily available from any reseller specializing in Voron parts. The bottoms require a pair of F695 bearings on each side, and a pair of 1mm thick shims/washers. Standard Voron bearing stack, if you've ever built one. M5x16 screw for the bearings to ride on, and M5x10's with t-nuts to attach to the frame.Up top - this is designed with dual-Z in mind, 8mm is probably a much better idea if you're running a long rod all the way across the top. You will need a 60mm-long 5mm-diameter shaft for each side - a D-shaft straight out of a V2.4 Z transmission should fit just right. On that shaft you will need (from the inside to the outisde) a 625 bearing, 2x 1mm-thick shims, a 20T 5mm-bore pulley, 2x more 1mm-thick shims, another 625 bearing, and then then final 20T 5mm-bore pulley which will get the printed 80T part attached to it. A few M3 screws are also needed to attach the bearing holder to the main body of the transmission, and M3 heatsets (4mm-length, 5mm-diameter) to receive them. Attach to the frame with M5x10's and t-nuts.Remaining parts must be sourced from the original project.
