Belted Extruder V.4 for 2.85mm This is the 2.85mm version of my Belted Extruder v.4 for 1.75. Please note that I've published a new version, the Belted Extruder v3 - 2.85mm / 3mm. Brackets etc. Everything for my Belted Extruders, including Mounting brackets can be found in my Collection: Belted Extruders by Dintid. Notes: I removed the 3mm from the name as it is natively too tight to use 3mm filaments. (all E3D 3mm is really 2.85mm). You can enlarge the center conduit using a small metal drill by hand if you want to use it for 3mm filaments. You do not have to open idler to load filament, which makes it very easy to change filament! Silent running due to belt operation Higher accuracy and longevity due to aluminum gears instead of printed gears. Build in mount points on 3 sides. Compatible with standard Nema 17 brackets - 31mm mount hole distance from center to center. I have printed a lot of Ninja-Flex SemiFlex and it works super nicely Details I use a 60-GT2 aluminum pulley to avoid inaccuracies and avoid wear and tear of printed gear. I am using a 16-GT2 Pulley for my small gear, which gives a ratio of 1:3.75 If you use a 20-GT2 Pulley for small gear you get ratio 1:3 Belt needed 172-180 A Nema 17 motor - I use a standard Nema 17 with a bit over 4kg holding torque. Belt is tightened by sliding motor away. Strongly advise you to buy Hobbed Bolt from E3D Using the Ultimaker 2 Bowden Couplers - can be found for cheap on Aliexpress and similar - buy extras as they do wear down eventually. With 32 microstepping and normal 1.8 degree Nema, the steps are about 1100mm/s filament, so ultra high definition and high torque BOM 60GT-2 Pulley 16GT-2 or 20GT-2 Pulley E3D Hobbed Bolt - Hobb-Goblin-8mm-Shaft A belt with length between: 172-GT2 to 180-GT2. 2x Ultimaker 2 Bowden Couplers Your Bowden tube must be OD 6.4mm to fit the above Couplers. I am using E3D bowden tube - NOTE that E3D's "3mm standard" is in fact 2.85mm and you can not use real 3mm bought from other places. 2x 20mm steel springs. 1mm thick 2x m3 50mm (or longer) Partially Threaded Socket Head Cap screws 3x 608 bearings. 8x22x7 - Type doesn't matter. Various m3 nuts, screws and spacers I have created some brackets for usage with my Belted Extruders fit for most surfaces, including 2020 profiles. Brackets for my Extruders I've made a Collection named Belted Extruders by Dintid where all my items related to my Belted Extruders is going to be added. Please let me know if you need a special bracket. Make sure there is no clogging of the center hole. Start by putting a piece of filament through the main body before assembling. If you can't get the UM2 bowden coupler into the hole, use a 7,5mm metal drill and enlarge the outer rim by hand. You can use 16-GT2 for 1:3.75 gear ratio and 20-GT2 for 1:3 gear ratio.
