I have released: Belted Extruder V4 Belted Extruder V.3 for 1.75mm There are three versions here. Two for m6 thread push-fittings (with and without support) and one for 1/8 BSP thread. I have made a Belted Extruder V.3 for 2.85mm as well. If you are looking for a direct-drive, I have made a Direct-Drive Belted Extruder 1.75mm V2 compatible with Prusa. Brackets etc. Everything for my Belted Extruders, including Mounting brackets can be found in the my Collection: Belted Extruders by Dintid. You do not have to open idler to load filament, which makes it very easy to change filament! Silent running due to belt operation Higher accuracy and longer lifetime due to aluminum gears instead of printed gears. Build in mount points on 3 sides. Compatible with standard Nema 17 brackets - 31mm mount hole distance from center to center. I have successfully printed using Shore D40 and D60 Flexibles, where number denotes softness. Pure Ninjaflex (shore A 85) does not work due to bowden. * Read wiki: Shore durometer if interested. Details I use a 60-GT2 aluminum pulley to avoid inaccuracies and avoid wear and tear of printed gear. I am using a 16-GT2 Pulley for my small gear, which gives a ratio of 1:3.75 If you use a 20-GT2 Pulley for small gear you get ratio 1:3 Belt needed 172mm/86 teeth - 188mm/94 teeth A Nema 17 motor - I use a small 0.9 steps pancake motor. Belt is tightened by sliding motor away. Strongly advise you to buy Hobbed Bolt from E3D - you can also buy it from Filastruder if that is easier for you. Push-Fitting with m6 thread With 32 microstepping and normal 1.8 degree Nema, the steps are about 1100mm/s filament, so ultra high definition and high torque BOM 60GT-2 Pulley 16GT-2 or 20GT-2 Pulley E3D Hobbed Bolt - Hobb-Goblin-8mm-Shaft A belt with length between: 172-GT2 to 188-GT2. Note: 200-GT2 is too long. 2x m6 Push-Fitting for 1.75mm filament 2x 20mm steel springs, 1mm thick 2x m3 50mm (or longer) Partially Threaded Socket Head Cap screws 3x 608 bearings Do not skimp on Hobbed Bolt. Left one is E3D... other one is from respectable local shop... Just go E3D. Post-Printing Remove supports colored red here. Compatible Belts Tested ok using 172-GT2 to 188-GT2. 200-GT2 is too long. If Idler bearing wobbles Use some painters tape or similar if the bearing is wobbling when assembled, which it most likely does. Calculate steps/mm A few stepper examples. Remember to do a proper measurement yourself. I have rounded the numbers up/down. When using: 16-GT2 + 60-GT2 pulleys + 1/32 multistepping + 0.9degree motor = 2050 steps/mm 16-GT2 + 60-GT2 pulleys + 1/16 multistepping + 0.9 degree motor = 1025 steps/mm 16-GT2 + 60-GT2 pulleys + 1/32 multistepping + 1.8 degree motor = 1025 steps/mm 16-GT2 + 60-GT2 pulleys + 1/16 multistepping + 1.8 degree motor = 510 steps/mm
