This design serves to secure and tension belts as well as engage limit switches. It also manages excess belt and protects the switches from impact, preventing damage. There are four limit/homing switches available: X-, +X, -Y, and +Y. I recommend using a total of four switches, with two dedicated for homing and two for limiting. Hard limit switches offer superior performance over soft limits in scenarios where position is reset or steps are lost. Required hardware includes: 12 M3 12mm long pan head screws for belt clamps 12 M3 nuts for belt clamps 4 M5 nuts for switches (the kit only provides three) 4 M5 bolts 10mm for switches, which are part of the EleksExtra kit The EleksMaker EleksExtra kit comes with three limit switches but I prefer using four. To obtain a fourth switch, an additional kit is required, as sourcing individual switches proved challenging. This design is engineered to secure nuts firmly in place. Due to varying nut sizes, some may require forceful insertion. If issues arise, heating stakes can be applied (using a soldering iron) or crazy glue can be used to secure the nuts. Alternatively, custom-sized nut capture options can be provided upon request.
