Belt tension meter

Belt tension meter

The concept for a drive belt tension meter popped into my head because it's nearly impossible to find anything like this in local stores. Even if such tools were available, their price would be prohibitively high. To bring the idea to life, I needed a small load - in this case, about 650 grams (1.4 pounds) of a dumbbell part. The remaining components are made from ABS plastic, designed to fit standard 3D printing beds measuring 200x200mm. It's recommended that the hook be reinforced to prevent deflections under heavy loads. To assemble the completed device, you'll need any suitable adhesive. To convert applied load into belt deflection, a simple mathematical calculation is all that's required - just look it up online.
