Belt Shell Holder for 12 gauge & .223 Rem/9mm
thingiverse
There is nothing better than a quiet walk in the woods alone; except for a walk in the woods with a break-action shotgun. If one is going out with a break-action shotgun, it's even better to have a couple extra shells strapped to one's belt. You know, for snakes and coyotes, and supper. This belt clip allows you to carry two extra 12-gauge shells and either a .223 Remington or 9x19mm cartridge (.222 Remington also fits). This will be particularly useful for those of you who carry a 12/.223 over-under, or those like me who have a 9mm chamber adapter in your pocket. This is a mashup of two different ideas: the "12 gauge/222.rem 5,7x43" by Oskar1990 (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2720749) and the "Comfortable Leatherman Wave belt holster" by WaveSupportApparatus (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1065346). Oskar1990's thing is a marvelous shell holder, but I found that the belt clip kept breaking. WaveSupportApparatus' belt holder for the Leatherman Wave is all-around a superior design, but it doesn't hold shotgun shells (it does a great job of holding my Leatherman Wave, though). So, I took the best of both. Then, I modified the .222/.223 slot to also hold a 9mm round. That is the only part of this that is genuinely my design. Notes: 1. Always use a firearm responsibly (https://www.nssf.org/safety/rules-firearms-safety/). 2. Fits a 1 3/4 inch (45mm) belt. 3. Holds two 12-gauge shotgun shells in 2 3/4, 3, or 3 1/2 inches. The belt loop sits flush with the end of the 2 3/4 shells. (It will also likely hold the 1 3/4 inch minishells. The dimensions are right, but I do not have any to test. The brass may be too high on the minishells to fully grip the shell) 4. Also holds one cartridge of .223 Remington, 5.56 NATO, .223 Remington, or 9x19mm (9mm Luger). .223 Rem and 5.56 NATO will sit higher than a low-brass shotshell; .222 Rem and 9mm will sit flush with the low-brass shotshell. 5. Also tested to marginally hold: .380 ACP, .38 Special, .357 Magnum, .50 BMG (Really! It can hold two in the 12-gauge slots. The head of the case might push through, though.)
