A protective shield mounts onto the bearings on the x-axis to prevent belt wear from sliding contact. I treated mine by applying silicone spray to make it extremely slippery. The fit is remarkably snug. Measuring 66mm in width, the hole precisely fits my printer. Interestingly, screws weren't needed for installation. However, adding a pair of M3 screws offers additional security since the bearing blocks aren't threaded through completely. Although M4 screws can also be used, nuts are required to secure them. Print with the holes facing downwards for optimal results.
