Belt Junction/Tensioner
thingiverse
I tried various tensioners but couldn't find any that printed well and were simple enough to fine-tune easily. So, I came up with this solution. It worked effectively after the first iteration, so I didn't bother to add polish. You might not notice from the image, but not all faces are in the same plane. However, it performs exceptionally well if you have sufficient space for it. You'll need to print two of these units. I borrowed code to generate the belt "slot" and teeth from Chowderhead's design. The scad file is available here: https://github.com/0xPIT/rostock/blob/master/cogsndogs.scad Chowderhead has an impressive collection of useful code on his GitHub page and Thingiverse profile. I also borrowed the hex nut capture socket from Airtripper's project, "Hex Nut Capture Socket Sizing Calibration," which can be found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:153394
