Belt Extruder for Bowden Footprint (WIP)
thingiverse
First started designing this in 2019 and never finished it, life's just too busy. The belt and gears are done, it just needed the arm and spring and mount designed for them, but essentially the point of this is to get maximum friction with minimal deformation on the filament, as easily as possible (in that it sits in the same space as a Bowden extruder and shouldn't even require recalibrating e-steps or flow-rate due to matching the radius of the original. The intention was also to add tensioning via nuts and bolts and one set of gears sliding. The gears on one side turn the gears on the other, so the plate arrangement needs some thinking I just haven't had the time to put into it.Though it was inspiring to see somebody else design a belt extruder last year, and to see how good it was at printing rubber (and odd that I hadn't thought of it for that purpose and yet I'm the one who's printing their own belts LOL :) )
