Belt driven Z axis for Sapphire Pro
thingiverse
Modification of the Z axis drive for the two trees sapphire pro. Due to the unsatisfactory effects of modifying the original design, i.e. the use of additional bearings and flexible couplings, I decided to design a belt drive for the Z axis. (The crooked lead screw still spoiled the quality of the print) The disadvantage of the solution is the bed falling down when motor is off. It is required to add extra z-axis motion all the way to the bottom in End G-code. Advantages - quiet operation when homeing and fast movements. The appearance of the layers is independent of the position of the Z axis. Need to modify the hole in the bottom housing (file, straight grinder)
