Bellona

myminifactory

In 1879, the City of Paris launched a contest to craft an image embodying the French Republic's spirit. Rodin submitted a portrait bust of his life companion Rose Beuret, depicting her in a fierce rage. This scowling, irritable, and stubborn representation of the French republic was exactly the opposite of what had been anticipated, and Rodin ultimately lost the contest. Nevertheless, his bust soon garnered widespread admiration and was carved from marble, with several copies produced. These 3D scans were created using an Artec Eva, aiming to produce a digital rendition as faithful to the original as possible. However, the presented scans should not be considered duplicates, as inaccessible areas and other deviations from the original might occur. Photography Credit: CC BY-SA 4.0 / Nationalmuseum
