Bellmouth inlet for Reynolds experiment
thingiverse
This is a bellmouth inlet to make a DIY Reynolds experiment. This fits a 0.6" ID schedule 40 pipe found here: https://www.grainger.com/product/GRAINGER-APPROVED-Pipe-PVC-1AAZ4?searchQuery=1aaz4&searchBar=true (item 1aaz4 at Grainger.com). I don't know why it is listed as 1/2" ID at grainger but I uploaded the pictures of the caliper readings. The flanged side was added so you can seal the hole in the reservoir more easily. It can be trimmed off if you don’t want it. I printed about 100.25% if I can remember correctly and you can use bondo to fill the crack in between the pipe and bellmouth. Sand with 120 and 400 sand paper. Cut a hole in your water reservoir that is perfectly the size of your pipe, and seal it using plumber's putty! Supports weren't necessary for me.
