Two beaver dams that dominated the Bellamy River Reservoir in Dover, New Hampshire were meticulously documented with a DJI Phantom 3 Pro flown at an impressive 40 feet above ground level. A staggering 718 overlapping stills from nadir and slightly angled 4K video were skillfully processed in Agisoft PhotoScan Professional. The imagery was captured on August 9, 2017, thanks to the expertise of Dr. Kevin Gardner at the University of New Hampshire. Special thanks go out to Scott Greenwood and Keelin Berger for their invaluable assistance with fieldwork and processing. This model was meticulously crafted using resources from an NSF EPSCoR funded project titled “RII Track-2 FEC: Strengthening the scientific basis for decision-making about dams: Multi-scale, coupled-systems research on ecological, social, and economic trade-offs”. The National Science Foundation provided support for this project through their Research Infrastructure Improvement grant #IIA-1539071.
