The Smithsonian offers a detailed model of the X-1 for 3D printing at legacy.3d.si.edu/explorer?modelid=1341. However, I modified this model to make it more suitable for printing by dividing it into two parts, allowing users to assemble the final product after printing. In due time, I plan to revisit and further refine this model to improve its printability, as it currently presents several rough edges. A close examination of the model reveals that it was likely created from a scan of the actual X-1 aircraft, resulting in a somewhat uneven and rough appearance.
