The Bell UH-1B Iroquois, also known as the "Huey," is a single-engine utility and medevac helicopter initially built in the mid-1950s for the US Army. Produced from 1960, it played a significant role throughout the Vietnam War and beyond. Capable of delivering troops, medevacing wounded soldiers under fire, and even equipped with mounted weapons for gunship support, this versatile helicopter saw extensive use during the 1960s, with over 17,000 units produced for the US military alone. The UH-1B was one of the first versions of the Huey, but numerous improved models followed, some of which are still in production and service today. This iconic helicopter could carry up to ten troops or six wounded soldiers.
