The Bell UH-1B Iroquois, also known as the "Huey," is a single-engine utility and medevac helicopter produced for the US Army in the mid-1950s. First entering production in 1960, it served throughout the Vietnam War and beyond, playing crucial roles in delivering troops and evacuating wounded soldiers under fire. Equipped with mounted weapons, some Hueys were transformed into gunships to support troop transports and medivac missions until the advent of the Bell AH-1 Cobra helicopter gunship. Over 17,000 UH-1Bs were built for military use during the 1960s, with various improved versions following; some are still in production today. The Huey could carry up to ten troops or six wounded soldiers and features a detailed cabin and cockpit, animateable rotors, and fully textured model in several formats for immediate downloading.
