The Bell UH-1B Iroquois, famously known as "Huey," is a single-engine turbine utility/medevac helicopter developed for the US Army in the mid-1950s and produced from 1960 onwards. Serving throughout the Vietnam War, these versatile choppers transported troops and evacuated wounded soldiers under fire. Some were even armed with machine guns, rockets, and other weapons to support troop transports and medivac Hueys. Over 17,000 UH-1Bs were built in the '60s, with many improved versions following; some are still in use today. Capable of carrying up to ten troops or six wounded soldiers, this iconic helicopter truly exemplifies military utility.
