The Bell UH-1B Iroquois, commonly known as the Huey, is a single-engine turbine utility and medevac helicopter developed for the US Army in the mid-1950s. Produced since 1960, this versatile aircraft served throughout the Vietnam War and beyond. Equipped with weapons like 50 caliber machine guns and rockets, some Hueys supported troop transports and medevac missions under fire. Over 17,000 were built during the 1960s, with various improved versions still in use today. The UH-1B was the first version of the Huey, capable of carrying up to ten troops or six wounded soldiers.
