The Bell UH-1B Iroquois "Huey" is a single-engine turbine-powered utility and medevac helicopter built in the mid-1950s for the US Army. First produced in 1960, it served throughout the Vietnam War and beyond, transporting troops and evacuating wounded soldiers under fire. Some were armed with machine guns, rockets, and other weapons. Over 17,000 were built during the '60s, making it a significant military asset. The UH-1B was an early version of the Huey, with many improved versions following suit; some are still in use today.
