A Hydroponic Tool A.K.A. a Self-Regulating Overflow Container. Instructions: This component was printed as an example to showcase the principle behind bell siphons used in hydroponics systems. It must be printed with 4 shells at a single wall thickness of .5mm to ensure watertight sealing, as varying printer specifications require adjustment in the downloaded .scad file. Firstly, print one tray and one bell before completing some finishing tasks on each part to verify their watertight properties. Then, position the bell within the hexagonal cutout at the base of the tray with the drainage holes facing downwards towards its floor. Now, commence filling it with water - as it initially rises normally until reaching the level of the inner pipe's upper boundary, whereupon all the water instantly drains out through the bottom hole in the tray. This effect holds great potential for hydroponic and aquaponic systems, providing a hands-off solution to cyclically flood and drain grow tables via passive mechanism alone.
