Bell Qualifier Action Camera Mount
thingiverse
I needed a Chin Mount for my Passenger Helmet - Bell Qualifier - but didn't want to waste $35 on one from that one site that sells chin mounts. (In all their product images, they look 3D Printed anyways) plus the one available also required the extra pieces to go with it.. I have DJI Action 3 camera since GoPros sucks, always over heating. So... I made my own Just need a M4x20 Bolt + Nut .. and some Double Sided Tape. Do not use PETG or any shiny/slick filament. Double Sided tape won't stick as well to that type of filament. I used ABS. I also took a little sand paper, and slightly roughed up the bottom of the mount piece just for a little extra grip for the tape. How to apply to helmet: - Be sure to clean the helmet area with some alcohol wipes; don't want any oils preventing the tape from sticking. - I use Gorilla Heavy Duty Mounting Tape which is ridiculously strong/lasting. I would also suggest doubling it up (put two piece back to back) this gives a little extra cushion when filling in the curve of the helmet. - Optional: I also took sand paper, and slightly roughed up the bottom of the mount piece just for a little extra grip for the tape. - Apply some heat to the tap w/ a hot air gun, just for like 10 seconds (not direct heat, move the gun back and forth).. - Let it sit for 24 hours. I've had this on my extra helmet for about 2 months now; hasn't started pealing off, and no signs of falling off while riding.
