As part of the Bell 206 family, the OH-58 initially served as a light observation helicopter for the US Army (YOH-4) before being adopted as the OH-58 Kiowa. Bell sold these light observation versions globally to military and law enforcement agencies, with the aircraft being military iterations of the commercial Bell 206 Jet Ranger.
