This is a first draft of a pattern for casting an aluminum bell in a home foundry. The 3D print will serve as the pattern, which will be placed inside a greensand casting flask. This is just the beginning of a series of experiments aimed at successfully casting aluminum bells using 3D printed patterns. As such, this attempt may not yield the desired results, but I would be thrilled to hear from anyone who tries this pattern and achieves success with it. I plan to print this design with robust walls that can withstand the pressure applied during the ramming process. However, since I have yet to actually print this pattern, I am still uncertain about what specific criteria to use for its construction. I will make sure to update this draft as I progress on this project and encounter any new challenges or discoveries along the way.
