Welcome to Lisbon! The Torre de Belém is a fortified tower situated in the municipality of Lisbon, capital city of Portugal. It has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its pivotal role in the Portuguese maritime discoveries during the Age of Discoveries era. Commissioned by King John II as part of a defensive system at the mouth of the Tagus river and a ceremonial entrance to Lisbon, the tower was constructed in the early 16th century. It is an exemplary representation of the Portuguese Manueline style, yet also incorporates elements from other architectural styles such as Moorish. (Wikipedia) MiniWorld has taken great pleasure in bringing this captivating model to life. This miniature representation embodies Portugal within our Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup Collection and was painstakingly created by hand and brain using Autodesk Fusion 360 by collaborator Brian Mauricio Sánchez, a true artist.
