Belay glasses for climbing
prusaprinters
When I belay my climbing partner, I get a stiff neck from craning my neck to look upwards. I saw other people with belay glasses, but was amazed how expensive the glasses were. So I thought I was being clever and bought a pair of really cheap book reading glasses from Amazon. They arrived, but it turns out you can't flip the direction. So instead I cut out the prisms and surrounds, and designed my own glasses using the arms. The glasses I used are http://amzn.eu/3KMoJaU 'niceEshop(TM) HD Horizontal Loon Glasses Refraction Glasses Bed Prism Spectacles Glasses ' Cost £4 and took a few weeks to arrive. The prisms are held pretty tightly here, but you'll need to use glue or similar to be sure. Edit Feb 7th: Special glasses case created! https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2785809 Edit Feb 7th: So I've used these a couple of times now whilst belaying my leading partner. They do stop a crick in the neck, but they are quite odd to use- I find I talk much quieter than I would expect for the distance he is away from me! Edit Feb 20th: After using these a couple of times, I'm 2/3 in favour of using them to prevent cricks in the neck.
