Bela Merda (Customizable Poop)
thingiverse
A Dream Come True: Bela Merda means Beautiful Poop in Brazilian Portuguese and it's exactly that - a highly customizable piece of art for your appreciation. While it may seem like a bad attempt at humor is actually useful, feces have immense symbolic value in our culture so you can utilize this base design to convey a multitude of negative connotations. You can transform it into a trophy for someone you believe to be full of hot air, or gift it to Murphy the God to seek protection from unfavorable situations. You can repurpose it and maybe create an anaconda body or any other archimedean spiral design you desire. You can also post-edit it in Blender and add a rougher surface using cura's fuzzy skin feature to print it more realistically. Speaking of archimedean spiral, this is straightforward to make in 3D modeling software like Blender (add curve -> spiral -> archimedean spiral, set the right parameters, use it as a path for a cone or phallus-shaped cylinder, etc.), and the implementation is quite inefficient in OpenSCAD (a bunch of concatenated sphere hulls), so it takes an eternity to render. You might not even want to wait for the render finish on the customizer window and ask to create it altogether, or simply download the .scad file and modify the variables yourself. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Sethi3D AiP A3 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 5% Notes: Very standard settings for this one, however it prints great with the new cura's setting "fuzzy skin", which makes it very realistic. How I Designed This OpenSCAD I was just curious how a rising spiral could be implemented in OpenSCAD. After several attempts, I noticed it looked like trash. I tried to make it look more and more like that, until I came up with a square root function for the decreasing size of the curve, and it turned out so beautiful that I decided to print and share.
