The beholder is a formidable and intimidating creature from the vast expanse of the Dungeons & Dragons universe. This monstrous entity is characterized by its numerous eyestalks, each emitting a piercing gaze that can see right through the veil of deception. Each stalk holds a different type of sensory organ, allowing it to perceive its surroundings in various ways. Some of these organs are capable of perceiving magical forces, while others can detect the presence of invisible enemies. A beholder is typically around 6 feet tall and has a bulbous body that appears almost spherical in shape. Its skin is a pale shade of yellowish-green and seems to be covered with fine scales. The creature's most striking feature, however, is its array of eyestalks, each one sprouting from the top of its head like a bouquet of twisted flowers. Despite its imposing appearance, a beholder is not invincible and can be defeated with sufficient force. However, it is crucial to note that this creature possesses an array of powerful magical abilities, including the capacity to cast spells, manipulate objects with telekinesis, and even drain the life force from its victims through a process called "antimagic cone."
