Your party has been navigating through a damp, moldy dungeon for what feels like an eternity. Flickering torchlight is all that illuminates the dark space. As you approach the end of the hall, a gated opening comes into view, but a looming mass seems to be blocking your path. Suddenly, a mage unleashes a prismatic orb that shoots swiftly down the corridor, casting light on a massive, glazed-over eye hovering just in front of the gate. The orb's brief illumination is quickly extinguished as another eye emits a piercing, pale pulse that collides with the orb. A blood-curdling shriek echoes from the floating eye, and you realize that the Beholder has awoken - and it's furious. Roll for initiative.
