2023-03-15: Complete redesign of this seal, it's smaller and more simple with the goal of not trapping any water and avoid rubbing against motor cover all together, this new version stops short before motor cover instead of extruding over it so that water can splash, drip and move past it. Due to this complete redesign it no longer support the "lazy" version installation, to install this seal you need to disconnect the motor cable. A waterproofing seal for the bearings on the Begode Master. The idea behind this seal is to add an extra barrier of protection outside the bearing with a layer of grease between them to further prevent water and dirt from reaching the bearing seal. Preparation and printing: The grease used for this type of application does not have to be super specific but it needs to be friendly to rubber of plastic, many oil-based grease will degrade rubber and plastic over time so please avoid those, read product description and manufacturer recommendations for the grease you are wanting to apply, it should be clearly stated if it is harmful or friendly to plastic and rubber. You will want to print this seal in TPU 95A and it needs to be solid i.e. 100% infill or enough perimeters/walls to make it solid. The measurements for this seal is pretty precise so you need to have your printer flow well calibrated, there is a very small gap between the seal and the motor cover this means there should be absolutely no rubbing if printed in the right dimensions, motor should be spinning without seal touching motor cover or bearing, if there is rubbing it means there is too much flow and it is better to re-calibrate and re-print the seal. Installation: 1. Install the motor spacers inside the two seals so that it fits in there snugly, at this point the seal and the spacer should be like one part. 2. Wipe the outside of the bearing and the motor cover just around the bearing clean so there's no dirt. 3. Smear grease around the outer perimeter of the bearing where it connects with the motor cover, can use your finger for this if you don't mind getting it dirty. :) 4. Place seal+spacer onto the bearing, align it with the holes and then screw the motor screws in a little bit so you can use them for leverage. 5. Do the same on the other side. 6. Now for both sides: Press on the spacer and the eras on the seal around the spacer so that it is fully "inserted" (use spacer as reference, don't push at the edges of the seal), spin the motor around a bit so that excess grease gets pushed up and out of the seal, carefully wipe away excess grease and keep repeating this process until there is no more excess grease coming out. 7. Re-Install the motor.
