Beesly The Educational Insect

Beesly The Educational Insect

I designed this model to help students learn about insect anatomy for educational purposes. My aim is for kids to recognize that insects have three main parts: the head, thorax, and abdomen, plus six legs and other notable features like wings, antennae, compound eyes, and mouthparts. The images of the orange model are enlarged 500% in size. I added magnets to the holes and pegs, which held the pieces together securely. However, the pegs on the wings need to be lengthened for better magnet contact, and I'm currently working on that adjustment. Please refer to my miscellaneous notes about printing at 500% scale for more information. This project is still a work in progress!
