This is a collaborative project between TU Delft and Protospace, designed to push the boundaries of 3D printing technology. By combining two Ultimakers into one robust system, we've achieved faster and larger prints without sacrificing resolution. To make this happen, we've implemented several key upgrades: We've installed custom firmware to optimize communication between the two printers. We've added four wires for seamless communication between the machines. We've repurposed a fifth stepper motor to drive table movement through a precision-crafted 3D printed gear. Our large print bed features a rack system that's been expertly laser-engraved.
