Beekeepers must ensure proper ventilation in their hives; they can achieve this by creating a small opening that bees cannot block with propolis but is too tiny for them to use as an entrance/exit. Traditionally, popsicle sticks are glued inside the outer cover of the hive, which has its drawbacks like needing two covers. A new solution exists in sets of two or four, lifting the cover just enough for ventilation without necessitating a second cover. The updated version offers better sizing and consumes less material, while also providing increased stability and featuring a maker's mark.
