Beehive broodbox frame spacers - Simplex
cults3d
These are frame spacers for the simplex type beehive, designed for use with broodboxes and honey supers. For broodboxes, bottom spacers are necessary due to longer frames; only top spacers are required for honey supers. Commercial spacers are essentially metal strips cut to length but lack the ability to position frames in the box's center, failing to distribute bee space evenly between sides. Each spacer holds three frames, so for an 11-frame simplex, one must cut a spacer or request additional space; I used 3.0x20mm wood screws to attach spacers in boxes, noting that dimensions play a crucial role in achieving a good fit. With limited experience working with bees, this project's outcome remains uncertain; fingers crossed the bees won't react negatively to PLA.
