Beehive Birdhouse

Beehive Birdhouse

I created this gift for my cousin's wedding celebration, who happens to be an avid beekeeper, and I'm thrilled with how it turned out. The mounting platform is completely optional; I chose not to include one in this version, but the hive will attach easily to a fence using the holes near the top. Additionally, there are holes for drainage inside the hive itself. To assemble the lid dowel and perch, you'll need to glue them into place. Once they're secure, the lid can be removed as needed for cleaning purposes. On June 23rd, 2016, I added nuts and bolts to the platform base. Print Settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Resolution: .30mm Infill: 10% Notes: It's entirely up to you whether or not to use supports; I opted for none, except for the rounded perch piece.
