The Beechcraft 99 Airliner commenced production in 1966 as a successor to the Beechcraft Model 18, designed to harness turboprop engines for more efficient transportation of larger loads. The Beech 99 was developed from the King Air and Queen Air aircraft, utilizing components from both, without pressurization. Manufacturing continued until 1987 when it was overshadowed by the pressurized Beechcraft B1900C and B1900D for transporting even larger passenger or freight volumes. Despite production ending over three decades ago, numerous Beech 99s are still in service globally, with more than half operated by Ameriflight primarily within North and South America.
