Originally manufactured in 1966 as a replacement for the Beechcraft Model 18, the Beechcraft 99 Airliner harnessed turboprop engines to transport larger loads more efficiently. Developed from the King Air and Queen Air aircraft using components from both, this non-pressurized aircraft ceased production in 1987 due to competition from pressurized Beechcraft B1900C and B1900D models capable of carrying even greater passenger or freight loads. Despite its discontinuation, numerous Beech 99s continue service globally, with over half operated by Ameriflight primarily in North and South America.
