Originally produced in 1966, the Beechcraft 99 Airliner was a replacement for the Beechcraft model 18, utilizing turboprop engines and carrying larger loads more efficiently. It was derived from the King Air and Queen Air aircraft, incorporating elements of both, but without pressurization. Production ceased in 1987 due to competition from pressurized Beechcraft B1900C and B1900D models capable of carrying even larger loads of passengers or freight.
