Bee Speaker

My entry is a speaker that takes in the shape of a bee hive and the bee is part of the speaker so that a phone can rest on it. There is a small opening behind the bee for the phone to drop into so that the phone's speaker is facing the hole in the bee speaker and the sound can travel out the holes of the speaker. I created this to raise awareness concerning the declining bee's population. Since I love music and constantly listen to it loudly, this speaker can blast my music and look bright and lively in my home. The speaker can always remind me of the importance of the bees and their impact in agriculture. My design can also be printed out bigger for iphone plus' or smaller. I hope to show everyone how you can take something already made and change it into something else with the same purpose but in a different shape and color that holds an important message. Ultimately, I was inspired to make this bee speaker by social media as I realized that bees are a huge factor in pollinating food crops. In fact, most of the food we eat rely on the pollination by bees. I hope people can think twice when they step on a bee or use pesticide in agriculture.
