Bee Hive Nuc Door ================= =============== This experimental BeeHive Nuc door has been successfully tested and proven effective. The design is similar to existing products, but with several key improvements. The first version features four positions: one fully opened for foraging, two that allow air in while keeping bees captive, and a handle for easy turning. The second iteration boasts redesigned slots allowing worker bees to forage while preventing the queen bee from leaving the hive. This also blocks drones from entering or exiting the hive. When designing the door, I considered pivoting it above or below the entrance for aesthetic appeal. However, research suggests that bees are indifferent to slot orientation, whether vertical or horizontal. If your 3D printer struggles to produce 3mm vent holes, a 3mm drill is recommended to ensure maximum ventilation. This design was created using Fusion 360 software.
